The island of Mykonos is one of the most famous of all Greek islands, and is often referred to as the "Queen" of the Cyclades. It has a very cosmopolitan atmosphere, and is extremely popular with both Greeks and visitors from abroad.
The island is one that is very well known for the beautiful beaches here, which provide you with the perfect setting for a holiday filled with sea, sun and whatever else you can imagine.
Archaeologically wise, the island does not have as many sights as other islands, though this doesn't make Mykonos any less interesting.
There are some really interesting towns across the island, that as well
as offering beautiful views and imagery, are well worth visiting, if only
to soak up as much from the local traditions and styles as you can.
The main town of Mykonos is Hora, and it is here where you will find much of the islands entertainment. Bars, cafes, restaurants, and clubs line the streets, and you can enjoy crazy nights out that last well into the early hours of the morning.
For those less inclined to party the night away, there are some more reserved,
quiet spots across the island, where you can enjoy a quiet drink or meal,
and simply sit back and admire the unique landscape and scenery all around
you.
